Gives Back
Thundershirt Gives Back! Helping animals in need.

Anxiety is a serious problem for millions of dogs. And dogs that have been rescued by one of the thousands of terrific rescue groups across the country, or turned into one of the thousands of animal shelters have a much higher rate of anxiety issues. Many dogs are turned in or abandoned BECAUSE they suffer from anxiety...their anxiety symptoms can be very destructive or hard to manage for many dog owners if they don?t have the resources or knowledge to help their suffering pets. Thundershirt Company is donating Thundershirts and thousands of Dollars to help these organizations manage their dogs' anxieties and find them good homes.

This month?s recipient is:

Operation Bahgdad Pups

Operated by the SPCA International, Operation Baghdad Pups has allowed over 125 Iraqi soldiers to bring rescued dogs home from Iraq. Wonderful for the dogs! Wonderful for the soldiers? families that have sacrificed so much for our country! We are also donating Thundershirts to the soldiers to help their dogs cope with the anxieties they picked up while literally growing up in a war zone. Visit their website for more information... www.baghdadpups.com.

These dogs become extremely important to the soldiers and the soldier?s families. Besides all of the normal rewards that dogs bring to our lives, these animals are a tremendous help for families dealing with the complications of active duty. ?Thundershirt?s efforts are not only helping us to fund bringing more dogs back from Iraq. They have also donated dozens of Thundershirts for our Baghdad Pups to help them cope with the anxieties of growing up in a warzone,? says Terri Crisp, Program Manager of Operations Baghdad Pups.

Tarmiyah

A case in point is Tarmiyah, a puppy recently brought back and named after the Iraqi town in which she was rescued by a soldier. ?Tarmiyah suffered through untold numbers of bombings and gunfire in Iraq, and a fear of noises came back to the States with her,? says Rebecca of Pennsylvania, the wife of a soldier serving in Iraq. ?Thunderstorms, fireworks, and even my vacuum now frighten her. But Thundershirt works great for her. Within minutes of putting it on, she?s calm.?

Animal Rescue Groups

Thousands of volunteers across the country donate time, money, sweat and tears to help dogs in need find new homes. Thundershirt supports their efforts through donations of Thundershirts and through conducting joint fundraisers. Below are just a few of the Rescue Groups that Thundershirt has worked with:

  • Cocker Spaniel Rescue of New England
  • Aussie Rescue & Placement Helpline
  • Citrus Golden Retriever Rescue
  • Golden Rescue in Naples, Inc.
  • Pitbull Rescue Central
  • NorthEast All Retriever Rescue
  • As Good As Gold - Illinois
  • GRROWLS-NY

"Many of our members are using Thundershirts with their Cockers and love them. And working with Thundershirt has been a pleasure. They helped us to quickly raise much needed funds for our rescues." - Jane Morgan with Cocker Spaniel Rescue of New England.

Animal Shelters

Millions of dogs in need of new homes go through shelters every year. Many of those dogs arrive with anxieties and other behavior issues. And even for those without pre-existing conditions, the shelter environment is very stressful for most dogs. To help relieve those dogs showing stress, we donate hundreds of Thundershirts to shelters every year.
